Enetpulse Comment on CJEU ruling on Football Fixtures

European Court backs Enetpulse and others that they should not pay royalties for publishing English and Scottish football fixtures lists.

Football DataCo, a company that protects and markets images and data for the English and Scottish Premier Leagues, had accused Enetpulse and others of infringing its rights by using match fixture lists without authorisation.

On Thursday, March 1st 2012 the European Union’s Court of Justice in Luxembourg said copyright protection did not extend to fixture lists.

Enetpulse welcomes the judgment and looks forward to the UK Court of Appeal hearing with the European Court of Justice’s ruling being applied.
